In Isolation

I thought I would just like to put pen to paper, well fingers to keyboard, and document my families time spent while in 12 week isolation from coronavirus (Covid-19).

My wife falls into the high risk category, as she is currently undergoing treatment for Lymphoma (blood cancer) and has been given the stark government advice to stay indoors and see no-one, don't go out, don't pass go and definitely don't collect £200. We are all joining her on her 12 week journey - hopefully by which time things may have changed for the better.

Been another lovely day here in Kent, the sun has been shining, the birds have been tweeting, the strimmers have been strimming and the BBQ's have been lit - yes, people have been having BBQ's. Today should have been cycle 5 of my wife's chemotherapy, unfortunately her white blood cell count came back low from her last blood test, so the chemo has been suspended for a week. Instead today was another trip to the hospital, this time to pick up a set of vaccine injections - deep joy, more jabs for me to give...

Following on from my theme of a task a day keeps the boredom away, today I laid a new lino in the bathroom - again, another of those jobs that under normal circumstances I would put off for as long as possible - in fact, to be honest I have put it off, as I think I bought the lino in the middle of last year!
