In Isolation

I thought I would just like to put pen to paper, well fingers to keyboard, and document my families time spent while in 12 week isolation from coronavirus (Covid-19).

My wife falls into the high risk category, as she is currently undergoing treatment for Lymphoma (blood cancer) and has been given the stark government advice to stay indoors and see no-one, don't go out, don't pass go and definitely don't collect £200. We are all joining her on her 12 week journey - hopefully by which time things may have changed for the better.

Day 147

I keep banging on about the word "normal". Normal, what exactly is that, everyone has a different idea of normal. Well for me normal was waking up, a bit too early, to little one's cries as he wanted to get up. It was little one's birthday today - not that he knew it, but hey we did.

Day 146

Well I was most disappointed today, my wife told me that if she woke early, which is quite common after her chemotherapy sessions, that she would make the other sofa that was still in bits in the lounge! Well she woke at 4.30, as the steroids woke her as usual, but failed to complete her side of the bargain! Mind...

Day 145

Today was a return to treatment for my wife. Having completed her 6 cycles of chemotherapy and 2 short sessions of radiotherapy, today was the first of bi-monthly maintenance chemotherapy sessions. These are planned for the next two years, with a view to keeping the possibility of the cancer returning. Her treatments to date have all gone well, so...
