Day 91
Well today was Father's Day here in the UK. Clearly someone hadn't told our little one that it was supposed to be a day of rest, as he decided to wake up at 4.30 this morning. He came into bed with us, but he didn't really settle - he did sit reasonably well while Turbo was played again!
Tea and toast done we popped up to the wife's Mum and Dad's to wish him happy Father's Day. It was nice to see them at a suitable social distance - we even managed to get little one out, on his reins - he was itching to get into his grandmas, and couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed. It was nice for Grandma to see him, as she hasn't seen him for 3 months and I'm sure he has grown in that time - he has certainly changed in what he does...
We had just got back from seeing Grandma when my daughter turned up with her little one. She came clutching cards, from grandson and herself and some lovely presents, a lovely wooden postcard for Dad Dad (that's me) and some sampler bottles of whisky (yum yum). It was nice seeing them both and having a chat out of the window - when they left they had a race back to their house, which my daughter lost!
I had a card and present from our little one, the present was a sort of double up with my daughter's little boy - they got me an Enigmagram, which is a set of puzzles, which you have to solve to get a number, once you have all the numbers you can unlock a secret area on the Enigmagram website, where you find a message from the giver, in this case a lovely picture of our respective little one's taken at Butlins last year, It was a lovely surprise, even if we did have to use the cheats to solve the clues...!
My wife's daughter had called over yesterday and had left me a card and a bottle of whisky, the whisky will come in very handy as I have just finished my current bottle. A very welcome and much appreciated gift.
Most of the rest of the day was spent in the garden, although the wife did have a cheeky 40 winks on the sofa, as the early morning wake up call caught up with her!
Looking forward now to the heatwave we are being promised over the next 5 days - let's see if they have got the forecast right this time.
