Day 34

25/04/2020

What a change in the weather from yesterday, it is hard to believe we sat out in the pool yesterday, as this morning it was freezing! Mind you, by the time we got up and going most of the morning had gone anyway.

It was another of our tea and biscuits in bed starts, with little one watching the Teletubbies in our bedroom - that's the TV programme, not a name for the wife and I...

I forgot to mention yesterday that we had yet another food parcel delivery left at our door, this despite me making several phone and email calls to let them know we no longer require this service. It was very welcome at the time, but now it is becoming an annoyance, as it is just another thing that needs sorting. I know I have plenty of time to get these things sorted out, but I just find it so frustrating when you have to keep doing the same thing over and over, to try and get a satisfactory end result. That's my task sorted for Monday anyway!

Going away from home for a bit, as it was a rather slow news day here in Kent, I watched a brief section of the evening news bulletin, where they once again announced the grim death toll, today it was 813 poor souls had lost their lives to Covid-19 - but hey, don't worry, to cheer the nation up the Premier League is hoping to restart playing football matches in July. Cheer the nation up, are these people living on the same planet, where worldwide over 200,000 people have now died, and within the UK over 20,000 - but hey, football's coming home!

It honestly does beggar belief, and I am an ardent football fan. I really do think the people that run football, within England and Europe are largely so out of touch - to use another one of my song misquotes, as Jessie J sang "it's not about the money, money, money" - but in this case oh yes it is...!
